As a family we had become isolated from each other. We were obsessed with the “problem” our younger daughter had. Our older daughter was alienated by everything being about her sister. It was all we talked about…what we should do, what she should do,
My search of the internet for answers and hope, led me to a sight that referred to intervention. I didn’t know what it was. I clicked on Inter-Care and got the courage to call. Inter-Care did not say there was nothing I could do.
Inter-Care said she would come. She did.
That was three years ago, I think, and we have all come a long way. Not necessarily exactly the way we anticipated but that is part of the beauty of it.
Alcoholism has taught us a great deal. We are not afraid of it or ashamed of it.
Best of all? We are back to loving without conflict. We are back to loving each day without dread. No more wishing or hoping
